Dead SSD and No Windows key, Advise please ?? :(

Hi, hoping i can get some advise on what to do with my currently dead p.c i`ll try and keep this brief and to the point here`s the gist of whats happened.1. Brought a 2nd hand but fairly new p.c about 9 months ago from a mature student.2. came as is with windows 8 installed BUT no disk or key3. Now seems that my SSD has died and i`m unable to use the p.c, i have tried switching sata cables etc, and its dead as a dodo.My main question is can i buy a windows DVD / licence along with a new ssd and install this onto my p.c or will it detect the old windows install from the motherboard and NOT allow me to do it ? I have files on another E drive, games etc… as well, so i`m hoping i can just install a new SSD and windows and this will work.Sadly i`m not exactly up to speed on this sort of thing so any advise / help would be appreciated.Having to use my sons p.c at the moment to get this on here so if i cant reply fast that`s why i may also be at work. Thanks for reading / helping :)P.S hope this is the right forum section for this, posted here because my SSD is the cause of the problem

Golemofstone : My main question is can i buy a windows DVD / licence along with a new ssd and install this onto my p.c Yes, that will work just fine.If you can, though, do try that SSD in another system, just to verify it is actually dead. And for future reference, I always recommend wiping and complete reinstall of the OS on any used PC. For your protection and theirs. You never know what the previous owner(s) had in there.
