Windows key seems to be locked in the "on" position

I have a Windows 8.1 ASUS ROG G750JM laptopWhen I pulled up or left a game, the computer thought the windows key was on – stuck. Switching between regular desktop and the start menu. It was operating fine outside of gaming.Checked many forums. They all seemed to say that the following would disable the windows key. To disable the Windows key, follow these steps:1. Click Start, click Run, type regedt32, and then click OK.2. On the Windows menu, click HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE on Local Machine.3. Double-click the System\\CurrentControlSet\\Control folder, and then click the Keyboard Layout folder.4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, type in Scancode Map, click REG_BINARY as the Data Type, and then click OK.5. Type 00000000000000000300000000005BE000005CE000000000 in the Data field, and then click OK.6. Close Registry Editor and restart the computer. I did each of these steps, except for the restart – because I thought it might cause an issue. As I was using the computer – not having restarted yet – it seemed to kick in, but rather than disable the windows key, it made it "on" all the itme. So if hit anything on the keyboard that shortcode would trigger. So I went in and followed these instructions (found on Microsoft on the same page as the previous ones)To enable the Windows key, follow these steps:1. Click Start, click Run, type regedt32, and then click OK.2. On the Windows menu, click HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE on Local Machine.3. Double-click the System\\CurrentControlSet\\Control folder, and then click the Keyboard Layout folder.4. Right-click the Scancode Map registry entry, and then click Delete. Click Yes.5. Close Registry Editor and restart the computer.I\’ve restarted twice and the windows key still seems to be locked in the "on" position. WHen you press it, nothing happens. The shortcuts are still all firing when I press keyboard keys.
